Scope of Work: Custom Hand Carved Limestone Panels and Tile Mosaics for the Custom Home Trade in Los Angeles
Studio Bali was a project collaboration with our California client to create large stone carving panels and decorative ceramic tile mosaic panels for the luxury custom home building trade. These highly crafted items were shipped to the USA after being crafted by our partner artisans in Bali.
Slab panels of Indonesian palimanan limestone were expertly carved to our specifications. The scenes ranged from tropical foliage, flowers, cactus, birds, butterflies, and a host of other subjects. Decorative mosaic tile panels showcased the work of Balinese ceramic artisans and ranged from refined to brutalist subject matter.
The project brought together custom design, Indonesian craftsmanship, and the expertise of artisan partners in Bali to create distinctive architectural and decorative elements for luxury custom homes in Los Angeles. Each limestone carving and ceramic mosaic panel was developed to meet specific design requirements while highlighting the character and craftsmanship of locally sourced Indonesian materials.
The custom hand-carved limestone panels were produced using Indonesian Palimanan limestone, with detailed relief carvings inspired by tropical and natural subjects. Decorative ceramic tile mosaics provided another expression of Balinese craftsmanship, ranging from refined decorative compositions to more contemporary and brutalist interpretations.
