The Grill @ LUXE Villas is a sophisticated yet casual fine dining restaurant overlooking the surrounding rice paddies. Being part of a boutique hotel, the restaurant was designed to function for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It morphs for all times of the day and takes on a more moody and glamorous character in the evening hours.
The color palette was inspired by the surrounding rice paddies and natural environment, with a focus on tones of blues and blue-greens along with earthy neutrals. The seating floorplan layout required thoughtful space planning as the footprint of the restaurant was long in depth but narrow in width. Warm woods and tactile upholstery softened the modern architecture. A timber-backed and illuminated wine rack was designed to showcase an outstanding selection of wines from around the world.
The hospitality design focused on creating a flexible restaurant environment that could transition naturally throughout the day, from a welcoming breakfast and lunch setting to a more intimate and glamorous dinner atmosphere. Custom furniture, upholstery, and lighting were carefully considered to enhance both the functionality and character of the space.
The result is a refined restaurant interior in Ubud, Bali, balancing contemporary architecture with warm timber, tactile materials, earthy tones, and carefully planned seating to create a casually luxurious dining environment.
