Property Type: Regional Luxury Villa Compound
Location: Keliki, Ubud, Bali
Scope of Work: Extensive Villa Renovation, Site Supervision, Exterior Finishes, Interior Design & Custom Furnishings
The Kelusa Estate is set within a traditional Balinese village on rice paddy slopes cascading down to a deep river ravine gorge. The Kelusa Estate is a study in a sophisticated and well-edited primitive-modern aesthetic where substantial natural materials do all the talking. Massive ironwood columns and beams provide structure in what are essentially Balinese pavilions set along the expanse of the view property.
The interiors of The Kelusa Estate are all custom-made utilizing wood, stone, and patinaed metals. The large open-plan structures required furniture and cabinetry with an oversized scale and presence. Comfort was key along with a variety of areas to relax and lounge while taking-in the forever view. The color palette was inspired by the surrounding nature including the golden rice stalks, tree bark, and a plethora of natural green tones from the surrounding gardens. There is a decidedly rich textural mix of materials and fabrics utilized throughout the compound to further bring the outdoors in.
The extensive villa renovation, exterior finishes, and site supervision were carefully undertaken to complement the existing Balinese character of the property. Interior design and custom furnishings were integrated throughout the compound to enhance the comfort and functionality of the open-plan pavilions while maintaining the distinctive primitive-modern aesthetic of The Kelusa Estate.
The result is a sophisticated luxury villa compound that brings together traditional Balinese architecture, contemporary interior design, custom furnishings, and natural materials within the dramatic landscape of Keliki, Ubud, Bali.
