Location: Sebali, Ubud, Bali
Scope of Work: Extensive Villa Renovation, Site Supervision, Exterior Finishes, Interior Design & Custom Furnishings
Villa Imogiri is a spectacularly situated Balinese pavilion-style villa compound in Sebali, Ubud, Bali, that is simultaneously refined and rustic. Set on a terraced hillside garden that overlooks a deep river ravine, a large central pavilion with a traditional alang-alang (thatch) peaked roof is open to the outdoors and surrounded by a scenic natural environment.
The compound needed sensitive and extensive villa renovations that featured the good bones of the compound while bringing in the luxuries of modern tropical living. Every aspect of the villa was touched and preserved where it could be and renovated extensively where needed. The renovation was carefully approached to respect the existing architecture and authentic character of the property while introducing contemporary comforts and refined interior solutions.
Contemporary furnishings and finishes in natural materials sit well with the earthy architecture. The interior design brings together the traditional Balinese character of the villa with carefully selected contemporary elements, creating spaces that feel both authentic and comfortable. Custom furnishings were introduced to complement the existing architecture and enhance the functionality of the villa while maintaining its distinctive tropical atmosphere.
Exterior finishes and site supervision formed an important part of the renovation, ensuring that the architectural character and design details were carefully maintained throughout the project. The surrounding hillside garden and natural setting were also considered as an integral part of the overall experience of the villa compound.
The result is an extraordinary villa compound with an authentic Balinese vibe enhanced with an overlay of tropical contemporary elements. Villa Imogiri demonstrates how sensitive villa renovation, interior design, custom furnishings, exterior finishes, and careful site supervision can preserve the character of an existing Balinese property while bringing it comfortably into modern tropical living.
